Love

Listen to the Message

1 John 3:11-18
It's even more amazing when you live your life this way.

Love.
We're about love, first and foremost.

Love God with everything you've got.

"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if
you love one another." (John 13:35)

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God and
everyone that loves in born of God and knoweth God.
He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. (1
John 4:7-8 KJV)

It's the same pure, holy, sacrificial kind of love.

Jesus made it clear that our expression of love for one another reflects the extent of our love for God.

1. Loving One Another Requires That You Open
Your Eyes.
  • "Love one another" is not just a suggestion
  • "This is what I want you to do: Love one another."
  • "One another" is everybody, period.
  • The command to love one another is non-negotiable.
  • "Hey, my life is a shambles. I'm falling apart. I need your help."
  • The keyword is "sees."

2. Loving One Another Requires That You Take
Action.
  • Sometimes we think that if we feel bad enough for someone's problem, that's good enough.
  • Love is expressed through the things we do.
  • "These are the feelings I want you to have."
  • "These are the actions I want you to take."
3. Loving One Another Requires That You Make a
Sacrifice.
  • You will be called upon to sacrifice
  • "This is what it looks like to love one another."
  • Loving one another calls for sacrifice.
  • Love one another.
  • Love one another.
  • Love one another.
  • It's so easy to go to church, but so difficult to be the church.
  • Let our lives, then, be focused on expressing God's love
  • at every opportunity.
