Listen to the Message
Matthew 6:14-15
The action or process of forgiving or being forgiven.
Would I be able to do the same?
It's something we can do only by the grace and power of God.
The greatest challenge to forgiveness is not limited to the big offenses that we experience.
There's something about the lack of forgiveness that is contagious.
Forgiveness is also contagious.
Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who have trespassed against us.
God takes this idea of forgiving others very seriously.
If you want to walk in the fullness of God's forgiveness, you must be willing to forgive.
1. We choose to forgive because we have been forgiven.
  • Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32)
  • We walk in the fullness of His forgiveness as we forgive others.
  • "healing warmth seemed to flood my whole being."
2. We forgive as many times as it takes to see it through.
  • They're just the clanging of the bell while it slows down.
  • "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." (Mark 11:25)
3. When you forgive, make it your objective to forget.
  • "I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again." (Isaiah 43:25)
  • One of the greatest gifts you can give to others is to leave the past in the past.
  • When you extend forgiveness to another, a seed is planted that cannot help but grow.
  • We forgive by choice because we have been forgiven by grace.
