The role that the Holy Spirit plays
Romans 8 is like a manifesto for victorious living.
What a wretched man I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death? (Romans 7:24)
#1. The Holy Spirit is your Guarantee of all that is to come.
  • The Holy Spirit is our first glimpse into the future that God has planned for His people.
  • This is what we have to look forward to.
  • The Holy Spirit is our guarantee.
#2. The Holy Spirit is your Guide through the challenges of daily living.
  • "groan inwardly"
  • He gives us the strength we need to thrive in the ugly now-and-now.
  • "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth." (John 14:16)
  • "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things ..." (John 14:26)
  • You cannot navigate this life on your own with any hope of lasting victory.
  • Your advisor is available around the clock — fully committed, fully involved.
  • The Holy Spirit is your guide.
#3. The Holy Spirit is your Go-Between when you're not sure of what to say or do.
  • "By the way, what's all this cost?"
  • "It's all been paid."
  • Paraclete means advocate.
  • Another.
  • And the work that the Holy Spirit does in your life, leads you into a closer relationship with Christ.
  • "Between the Cross and Heaven There's a Whole Lotta Living Going On."
  • This life of victory is made possible through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
