Listen to the Message

Colossians 2:6-7

Why is my Christian walk sometimes so unstable?
You discover that there are some "hidden" costs involved.
"This is impossible! I can't do it."
Is this really what living the Christian life is all about?
God's expectations for you are incredibly high.
This is a life-long process.
Paul is saying that you live the Christian life the same way that you enter the Christian life.
We are saved by faith, and we live by faith.

1. ROOTED IN HIM
  • What does it mean to be "rooted in Christ"?
  • "You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy"
  • We create stability in our lives by placing our roots firmly in Christ.
  • "Rooted in the Word; Reaching for the World."
  • "Rooted in the World; Reaching for the Word."
  • You must learn to live in Christ, not just for Christ.
  • The more you surrender, the deeper the roots grow.
2. BUILT UP IN HIM
  • It means that being "built up in Christ" is an on-going process — one that takes time.
  • God isn't surprised by your imperfection.
  • God is at work in your life, and He will continue that work as long as it takes.
  • You will have to change the way you interpret your progress.
3. STRENGTHENED IN FAITH
  • You don't have any strength in yourself, the strength is in your faith.
  • All you need to win the battle in your daily life is faith in Christ.
  • As you place your faith in Him, your strength increases.
  • Living the Christian life is not about living for Christ, it's about living in Christ.
4. OVERFLOWING WITH THANKFULNESS
  • Expressing thankfulness in advance is an act of faith.
  • God is faithful and will keep His word.
  • Expressing gratitude to God for what He will do signifies that you trust Him with your whole life.
  • If your faith is in yourself, you'll never make it.
  • Put your faith entirely in Him.
  • When you place your faith in Him, He will not let you down.
