Listen to the Message

Isaiah 58:1-12
God wants you to live a blessed life.
"Where do I sign up?"
Your salvation will come like the dawn.
Your wounds will quickly heal.
Your godliness will lead you forward.
Your prayers will be heard.
Your life will be filled with light.
The Lord will guide you continually.
He will refresh you.
Some people live in never.
Some people live in now.
It's not the sins of others that prevent you from experiencing God's blessings in your life, it's the sins you commit.
When God talks to His people about sin, He makes it personal.
1. The sin of trying to seem.
  • They act. They seem. They pretend.
  • It's also true that you can fool God none of the time.
  • You begin by getting real with God.
2. The sin of settling for sometimes.
  • Holiness isn't a selective proposition.
  • If you want to get in on the blessings of God, it can't be just a sometimes thing.
3. The sin of selfishness.
  • Their hearts haven't changed; they just want what religion will give them.
  • If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. (Matthew 16:25)
1. Justice
  • There are things you encounter every day that aren't right ... that you have the power to change.
2. Generosity
  • Whatever your goals are in life, some of them should involve helping others.
  • You change. You grow.
  • Once you get in the habit of giving, you don't want to give it up.
  • The paradox is that the more you bless others, the more God can bless you.
  • Is it the life you will choose?
