Listen to the Message
Romans 8:28
Many people are confused about what optimism really is.
You're either an optimist, a pessimist, or a realist.
"This isn't going to work out. Why bother?"
"This can work out, let's do something about it."
Optimism is the tendency to dwell on the most hopeful aspects of a situation, and to act accordingly.
"No Christian can be a pessimist, for Christianity is a system of radical optimism."
This is a promise upon which you can build your life.
1. ALL THINGS
-
Because you know that God will take this negative situation and transform it into something good.
-
"This isn't what I planned and this isn't what I wanted to happen."
-
It means that there are no meaningless events in your life.
-
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (Genesis 50:20)
-
His glory, your good. All things.
2. TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD
-
Our connection with God is a relationship based on love.
-
God wants, more than anything, for us to love Him.
-
"God, as long as I am with you, as long as you are in my life, that's all that matters."
3. CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE
-
There is no such thing as a meaningless life.
-
God is able to incorporate any event of your life into his ultimate plan for your life.
-
"The saving of many lives."
-
There is no situation that God's power cannot redeem.
-
We have a reason to hope.
-
And to act accordingly.
-
God is making all things work together for good, because he is a good God.
