Listen to the Message

Genesis 18:1-15
"Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward." (Genesis 15:1)
It's been more than a dozen years since Abraham first received the promise of an heir.
She found his statement as ridiculous as it was impossible.
These weren't words of hope.
We're on the receiving end of exceeding great and precious promises.
I guess it's just not going to happen.
They're waiting to be claimed, and they're waiting to be fulfilled in God's perfect timing.
How to get in step with the promises of God.
1. The Promise Never Changes.
  • I will trust God, and I will implement this alternate plan.
  • And yet................
  • Well, maybe God's promises weren't all I thought they were.
  • It remained consistent, even when Abraham didn't.
2. We need to come clean with whatever is standing in the way of the promise.
  • "You've got to be kidding me."
  • This was a bigger obstacle than the physical limitation.
  • Thinking leads to action.
  • "You need to come clean with your attitude."
3. We need to begin taking action consistent with the promise.
  • Our daily actions need to be consistent with the fulfillment of God's promises.
  • Serve others with humility at every opportunity.
  • "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." (James 4:6)
  • It means the promises of God will come alive in your life.
  • "Is anything too hard for the Lord?"
  • "For with God nothing shall be impossible." (Luke 1:39 KJV)
  • "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)
  • Believe again in the life God has for you.
