Matthew 2:10-11
Matthew 2:10-11 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with His mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
1. The priest essentially would be the representative of the people before God.
2. The priest prayed on behalf of the people of God, representing the people of God.
One was the sin of man and the other was the holiness of God.
His grace and His mercy are holy.
Day of Atonement
God’s holiness and sin cannot mix.
Hebrews 10:10 “And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the Body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
Jesus understands our weaknesses.
“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God.”
John 11:1 “And the Word became flesh.”
Gold – He is our king.
Myrrh – He is the suffering servant, the Lamb of God.
Frankincense – He is our High Priest who would be sacrificed for the forgiveness of sins and pray prayers on our behalf to God in heaven.
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
When He walked on this earth He was "God with us" and today He is still "God with us."
Accept, receive, and recognize His presence in your life.
1. God reveals Himself to those who seek Him.
2. God speaks to those who will listen.
3. God leads those who will follow.
God will lead you — if you're willing to follow.
"In this place there is no path. I am the path."
