Judges 6:11

God uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.

He was a farm boy who became a national hero and he did it against incredible odds.

God was able to take a nobody and turn him into a somebody.

He was threshing grain and distressed over the condition of his family and his people.

#1. God’s affirmation.

He gives you a healthy view of yourself.

"Without a vision people perish."

Affirmation is a powerful form of motivation.

Gideon began to protest about God's positive ideas for his life.

I am the most unlikely individual.

Romans 8:31 “If God be for us, who can be against us.”

#2. God’s revelation.

Life becomes more than a religion, but an absolute relationship.

God was ready to use Gideon right then and there.

"The Lord is peace."

That internal peace was far greater than any of his exterior challenges.

#3. Gideon’s confrontation.

The test determines whether you will trust God and obey Him without question.

The bottom line is that they were compromising their faith.

God may test you spiritually.

God may test you emotionally.

God may test you physically.

“What is it that we often put on a pedestal?”

Courage is contagious and faith is infectious.

#4. Gideon’s transformation.

"I'm going to help you. I'm going to give you power."

God works in the world, but he does it through people who are useable.

Gideon was transformed by God's Spirit from a loser to a leader.

"Who wants to follow the Lord into battle?"

"When the battle takes place, I want everybody to know that it was not by might or power, but it was My anointing and My Spirit."

Gideon became a national hero.

We live up to our view of ourselves.

“You come at me with a sword and a spear, but I come at you in the Name of the Lord.”
