Habakkuk 1:1 - 3:19

God told me to......

Because their lives reflect......

The lesson for us to learn is how to hear God's voice.

Everyone here today needs to hear  from God in some area of your life.

"Why?"

"What Next?"

1. Don't be afraid to ask the difficult questions.

  • Hearing from God usually begins with a struggle.
  • Don't be afraid to ask
  • If you want to hear the voice of God, be completely transparent with Him.

2. Put yourself in the best place possible.

  • Where do you think is the best place possible for you to listen for God's voice?
  • "What can I do to prepare myself and position myself to hear God's voice?"

3. Be willing to wait it out.

  • If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. (Habakkuk 2:3)
  • For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him! (Isaiah 64:4)
  • The problem is not that God doesn't want to speak.
  • God's perspective is always better than ours.

4. Put your thoughts into words; put the words on paper.

  • I think most of the time a vision is something you perceive in your mind's eye of what God wants to accomplish in your life.
  • I will give you my message in the form of a vision. Write it clearly enough to be read at a glance. (Habakkuk 2:2)

5. Be ready to put your faith to work.

  • God would rescue His people and defeat their enemies.
  • His message will be good news
  • As you spend time in God's word and with God's people, He will begin to speak His promises to your heart.
