2 Kings 5:1-15

Think about a miracle you'd like to receive from the Lord.

Psalm 84:11(b) (NIV) "…the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless."

That meant that no matter how good things were for him, he still needed a miracle.

Life would be good ...

Before the leprosy ruined him, he sought help.

1. God used the insignificant to direct him.

It is different from what we expect.

1 Corinthians 2:11 (NIV) “For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God."

Psalm 37:23 (NIV) “If the Lord delights in a man’s way, He makes His steps firm.”

Sometimes help comes from unexpected places.

Other men can be called in to help him do a better job than he can do alone.

"None of us is as smart as all of us."

2. God used the unreasonable to reveal the supernatural.

2 Kings 5:10 (NIV) "Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, ‘Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored, and you will be cleansed.'"

“Whatever it takes.”

When the supernatural works, it works by God's design.

Isaiah 55:9 (NIV) "…so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."

He gets mad because Elisha didn't do it right.

Namaan wanted to do nothing but receive.

Are you willing to do your part?

3.  God honored obedience.

2 Kings 5:13 (NIV) "Naaman's servants went to him and said, ‘My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed!'"

2 Kings 5:12 (NIV) "…so he turned and went off in a rage."

God was there all along.

2 Kings 5:14 (NIV) "So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy."

It represents humble obedience to the Word of God.

2 Kings 5:15 (NIV) "Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God. He stood before him and said, ‘Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. Please accept now a gift from your servant.'"

They'll help you find your way.

Will you let others speak into your life?

Can you take action?

We do the possible in faith that God will do the impossible.
