John 16:33
John 16:33 "In this life, you will know hardship, loss, pressure, tragedy, heartbreak, and betrayal."

"Take courage, for I have overcome the world."
"Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows but take heart because I have overcome the world."

1. God is never the author of evil.
  • John 10:10(a) "The evil one comes to steal, kill, and destroy."
2. God limits the severity of adversity that comes my way.
  • It will never come your way in an amount that with God's strength you cannot overcome.
  • "This will not take me down."
  • 1 John 4:4 "Greater is He who is in me than He who is in the world."
  • Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
3.   God makes Himself completely available to me in the middle of trouble.
  • Psalm 34:18 “God is especially near and makes Himself present to the brokenhearted. And He rescues those who are crushed in spirit.”
  • Psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil."
4.   God is totally committed to forming something worthwhile and good out of my heartbreak.
  • Romans 8:28 "God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and walk according to His purpose."
  • "Just maybe, maybe in the power of God, I can overcome this."
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:13 "We do not grieve as those who have no hope."
  • Psalm 23:6 "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
  • Every morning she decided to walk toward tomorrow.
  • Hope brings the confidence that comes through the exercise of faith
  • If you're living for Jesus, you'll find there will be plenty to overcome.
