Ephesians 6
GET DRESSED FOR BATTLE
Ephesians 6:10 “A final word: Be strong with the Lord’s mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the devil.”
You get to make a choice as to how you’re going to respond.
We are to put on God’s armor every day to stand against the strategies of the enemy.
1 John 4:4 “Greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world.”
Ephesians 6:12 “For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.”
Trying to defeat Satan on your own is like shooting a rubber band at a battleship.
“I plead the blood”
Ephesians 6:13 “Use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil so that after the battle, you will still be standing firm.”
We stand in the place of victory.
1. The Belt of Truth.
Ephesians 6:14 “So stand ready, with the belt of truth tight around your waist…”
The belt of truth represents all areas of integrity in your life.
2. The Breastplate of Righteousness.
Ephesians 6:14 “Put on the belt of truth with the breastplate of righteousness protecting your chest.”
PURITY MEANS KEEPING MY MOTIVES CLEAR AND HAVING A PURE HEART.
Psalm 24:3-4 “Who may ascend to the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart.”
“Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.”
Satan will always attack you with impurity .
Enough is never enough.
3. The Shoes of Good News.
Ephesians 6 :15 “On your feet wear the shoes of Good News, prepared to share the Gospel of peace.”
“Love God with all your heart and spirit and love your neighbor as yourself.”
SERENITY IS LIVING AND SPEAKING THE GOSPEL OF PEACE.
Psalm 119:165 “Great peace have they who love your law and nothing can make them stumble.”
“Great peace have they who love your law and nothing can offend them.”
We are to live it, and we are to speak it.
Romans 12:18 “As much as it is possible as far as it depends on you, live in peace with everyone.”
2 Corinthians 5:19-21 “God was in Christ making peace between the world and Himself. In Christ, God did not hold the world guilty of its sin and He gave us this message of peace.”
4. The Shield of Faith.
Ephesians 6:16 “At all times carry the Shield of Faith; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One.”
DOUBT
DISCOURAGEMENT
DELAY
DIFFICULTY
DEPRESSION
“ Without faith, it is impossible to please God.”
5. The Helmet of Salvation.
Ephesians 6:17 “You need to put on the helmet of salvation.”
It will keep your mind fresh, healthy, and alert.
Satan is not afraid of your words, but he is afraid of God’s Word in you.
Colossians 3:2 “Keep your mind on things above, not on worldly things.”
6. The Sword of the Spirit.
Ephesians 6:17(b) “…and take the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”
Ephesians 6:18 (TEV) “Do all of this in prayer, asking for God’s help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason, keep alert and never give up; always praying for all God’s people.”
